A 20 year old North East Philadelphia man was found Not Guilty of Gun Charges today in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court.

The Defendant was stopped in the early morning hours of June 3, 2007 in the 3000 Block of W Allegheny Ave, for running a red light. The car was occupied by three other adults. Police allege that when the Defendant reached into the glove compartment to recover registration and insurance information they saw the butt of a revolver.

Police searched the vehicle and did recover a 9 mm Firestar, semi automatic pistol loaded with 8 live rounds. Attorney Perry de Marco, Sr. successfully argued that the District Attorney failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the Defendant knew or should of known of the presence of the gun in the glove compartment. The Judge agreed.
